Fun + Flirty in the Pleated Skort

You know when you put on a look that make you feel that extra little bit of fun and flirty?  That was this outfit for me.  I purchased it recently before Shawn and I took our trip to New York in July for a party we would be attending.I fell completely in love with the pleated short and cropped moto vest almost immediately.  Both together are a bit more out of my comfort zone and it felt great to take a style risk.  While the slit looks high in come of the photos, the skirt (with built-in black shorts) rarely opens unless the wind is blowing in the right direction.

For the vest, I styled it recently with a classic LWD (little white dress) and love the added edge it gives even the most feminine of looks.  I have really been trying to add more pieces to my closet that allow me to style my 'girly' pieces with more character and sass.
