Denim Shorts for Fall

We're switching things up for today's blog post!  As a girly, girl at heart, I realize I rarely bring you casual looks here on A Lily Love Affair (which, to me, is ironic as I spend the majority of my time away from the office in casual wear).  We have been talking over the last two weeks or so about how to transition our favorite summer pieces into fall as the weather starts to cool off.  Today is a continuation of this theme. 

This summer I practically lived in these distressed denim shorts (and still am, clearly!)  With the weather dropping into the upper 50's, low 60's this past weekend here in Chicago, I dusted off some of my favorites from fall last year and partnered them with the shorts to create a more casual, layered weekend look.  In years past, I have not been much of a fan of ankle booties as I think they have a tendency to make my short muscular legs look stumpy.  However, I recently stumbled across these wedge booties and knew I had to have them.  First off, they are incredibly comfortable.  Second, the leather is buttery soft!
