My Newest Obsession: Flamindigo

Flamindigo Tote || Banana Republic Cropped Tank || Banana Republic Midi Skirt (now on MEGA SALE!) || Nine West Heels (now sold out) || Daniel Wellington Watch c/o || David Yurman Bracelets || Ann Taylor Sunglasses

Confession.  I have a serious new obsession.

I am always on the lookout for pieces to add to my wardrobe that are unique.  While I love purchasing from big box retailers and brands like J.Crew, Banana, Rebecca Minkoff, Tory Burch and Kate Spade, I often find myself not purchasing items I think will already be seen by everyone in my circle.  Finding items that are both beautiful and interesting can be a challenge at times.

One late night a few months back I couldn't sleep so naturally I turned to surfing Instagram to pass the hours and came across a beautiful photo of a series of totes from a brand out of Germany called Flamindigo and immediately fell in love.  I jumped out of bed, grabbed my laptop and suddenly found myself engrossed in the creators story online.

David, founder of Famindigo, started the line in 2012 after spending 3 years as a doctor.  A few months later he released his handbag collection online and great an immediate following in both Germany and Italy - sending out multiple orders and gaining notoriety from local TV and news publications as the "handbag doctor."

What I love most about David's story is his perseverance in pursuit of his dream to create and bring beautiful bags to the world.  Before launching his collection online, David was faced with many critics who told him the pursuit of this dream was almost impossible as there were already thousands of handbag companies around the world.  David fought past all who told him his dream would never become a reality and is now the creator of my newest obsession - this beautiful bag and others from his lovely collection.

After falling head over heels in love with his unique designs and creative concepts, I knew I had to have one of my own.  I found myself reaching out to David myself to compliment him on his stunning work and ordering this tote with several changeable straps.

While we're on this subject, lets talk about this bags details and what made me fall in love.  Not only had I never seen a bag like it in the past, I loved the fact that the handles and straps are exchangeable and available in 8 different colors and two different lengths.  With this, you can add handles (a short strap as seen in the photos above) or long straps making it the perfect cross body bag to fit several different looks - so versatile.  All handbags, handles and straps are made of real leather and manufactured by hand.

This is definitely a brand I can get behind and one I'll be carrying around with me for many months to come!  For today's look, I added the green short handle just in time for St. Patrick's Day!  If you're looking for a versatile, unique, finely crafted bag, I promise you cannot go wrong with Flamindigo!  You can also visit them on Instagram here.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and an even better start to a new week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope to see you back Wednesday!

XOXO,
Anna

  25. I've never heard of that line before, but I really love the story behind it! I can't even imagine how difficult it would be to transit from medicine to fashion, but obviously, it was worth it.

That skirt is gorgeous, by the way!

  28. First off I love that you share in my obsession for Banana Republic! They seriously have the best stuff and a majority of the pieces I get from them are on major sale. I love that cropped top! I actually have the skirt version of that print and can't wait to style it once it gets warm, but I love this look. And I love finding small boutiques and businesses that everyone may not know about. That tote bag is amazing and I loved not only seeing how you style it,but also learning more about the company and the founder. Such a great post!

I have been shopping there since I was in middle school and I have been loving what Marissa W. is doing for their collection! So glad you like hearing about Flamindigo, too! They are really great - I could gush about them all day! :) Happy St. Patrick's Day!
