Banana Republic Crop Top (now less than $30!!) || Ann Taylor Perfect Shirt || J.Crew Wool Pants || DVF Red Suede Heels || Hayden Harnett Clutch || Ann Taylor Sunglasses
Happy Wednesday, y'all! Is it just me, or is the week already moving at lightening fast speeds? Who's ready for the weekend already? ME!
As Spring is arriving quickly (or at least I'm telling myself it is), I have been working to repurpose items from my closet in hopes of saving more of my money for great looks I know I will want to invest in for Spring and Summer. If I do invest in a piece I feel I cannot live without for the Spring season I want to make sure it is one I can style easily now and in the months to come. There is nothing worse than buying something now to have it sit in your closet watching you pass it day in and day out without use.
Over the next few weeks I will showing you some great pieces you can invest in now, but are versatile enough to style for months to come. Today we are going to focus on how to style your crop top now and well into Spring. I recently purchased this crop top from Banana Republic (now, less than $30 on sale!) to wear with a great all black midi skirt I purchased at the same time. I knew this black and white pattern was a classic one and I love the slightly longer length.
Nonetheless, I did not want it to fall victim to death in my closet as I wait it out for warmer weather (as so many other pieces have in my closet over the years). Instead, I wanted to justify my purchase by wearing it now and well into Spring. To do so, I styled the look for the office with slightly less fitting wool pants (by the way, these have an elastic waistband are LITERALLY the most comfortable pants I have ever purchased! They also come in a fantastic red color! Now, one thing to note, I bought them in my true size, but wished I would have gone down one size as they did stretch a bit after a short afternoon of wear as you might be able to see in the pictures above. Just a suggestion.), a white button down top and a pop of red in the heels.
Later next week I will show you a great way to style this fabulous romper for Nordstrom which so many of us adored! Stay tuned!

I am so feeling the end of winter! :) I am really trying to break into some new things, but it's still freezing here :)
DeleteI am a sucker for black, white and red so I think you nailed this! I also love the idea of using the crop top as a layering piece. My crop top days are long gone so I thought I couldn't buy them, but you have proved me wrong.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both! I have noticed that's all I have been pulling out of my closet as of late. It's such a great combo though, right? :) This is actually my first crop top as well!
DeleteCan we just move closer to each other and be besties? I want your entire closet.
ReplyDeleteDo you know how much I would love that? Let's start planning the move ... :) XO

DeleteI love your setting. The lake in the background with the blue skies is so pretty. It looks cold though :-) I am looking forward to seeing your post on other transitional pieces. This crop top look with the red pumps is so good!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tracy! It did look so pretty, but it was definitely freezing! :) I hope you like the future posts as well! XO
DeleteI'm actually obsessed with this and reading this was like you took the words right out of my mouth! Hahaha we definitely think alike because I've been telling myself Spring is fast approaching and I've also been telling myself to save money because I already have my eye on some Spring splurge items. But I adore Banana Republic and I was looking at that top as well, but had no clue how I was gonna style it, but I loved that you made it winter and work appropriate. Seriously in love with how you styled a crop top. Plus I love that print, I was thinking of getting the skirt! Great look girl and great post!!

This is always the time of year where I really die spring is not here :) But I am normally not as good (at all!) about saving until I can really wear what I buy. I have a huge list of things I want too, but I know I'll be dying for something new once March hits so I'm trying so hard not to splurge :) I think you will really love the top! Banana has been doing really well lately with their collections - and I think you'll LOVE the skirt even more! It goes with everything! I hope you're having a fantastic Thursday! XO
DeleteWho would ever associate a crop top with office appropriate? You managed to make the combination work so well...and anything looks fab with killer red heels.
