Transitional Style: The Crop Top + $700 Cash Giveaway

Happy Wednesday, y'all! Is it just me, or is the week already moving at lightening fast speeds?  Who's ready for the weekend already? ME!

As Spring is arriving quickly (or at least I'm telling myself it is), I have been working to repurpose items from my closet in hopes of saving more of my money for great looks I know I will want to invest in for Spring and Summer.  If I do invest in a piece I feel I cannot live without for the Spring season I want to make sure it is one I can style easily now and in the months to come.  There is nothing worse than buying something now to have it sit in your closet watching you pass it day in and day out without use.

Over the next few weeks I will showing you some great pieces you can invest in now, but are versatile enough to style for months to come.  Today we are going to focus on how to style your crop top now and well into Spring.  I recently purchased this crop top from Banana Republic (now, less than $30 on sale!) to wear with a great all black midi skirt I purchased at the same time.  I knew this black and white pattern was a classic one and I love the slightly longer length.

Nonetheless, I did not want it to fall victim to death in my closet as I wait it out for warmer weather (as so many other pieces have in my closet over the years).  Instead, I wanted to justify my purchase by wearing it now and well into Spring.  To do so, I styled the look for the office with slightly less fitting wool pants (by the way, these have an elastic waistband are LITERALLY the most comfortable pants I have ever purchased!  They also come in a fantastic red color!  Now, one thing to note, I bought them in my true size, but wished I would have gone down one size as they did stretch a bit after a short afternoon of wear as you might be able to see in the pictures above.  Just a suggestion.), a white button down top and a pop of red in the heels.

Later next week I will show you a great way to style this fabulous romper for Nordstrom which so many of us adored! Stay tuned!

Before you head out, don't forget to enter for your chance to win $700 Cash in this weeks giveaway!!

XOXO,
Anna

  4. I am a sucker for black, white and red so I think you nailed this! I also love the idea of using the crop top as a layering piece. My crop top days are long gone so I thought I couldn't buy them, but you have proved me wrong.

  17. I'm actually obsessed with this and reading this was like you took the words right out of my mouth! Hahaha we definitely think alike because I've been telling myself Spring is fast approaching and I've also been telling myself to save money because I already have my eye on some Spring splurge items. But I adore Banana Republic and I was looking at that top as well, but had no clue how I was gonna style it, but I loved that you made it winter and work appropriate. Seriously in love with how you styled a crop top. Plus I love that print, I was thinking of getting the skirt! Great look girl and great post!!

    1. This is always the time of year where I really die spring is not here :) But I am normally not as good (at all!) about saving until I can really wear what I buy. I have a huge list of things I want too, but I know I'll be dying for something new once March hits so I'm trying so hard not to splurge :) I think you will really love the top! Banana has been doing really well lately with their collections - and I think you'll LOVE the skirt even more! It goes with everything! I hope you're having a fantastic Thursday! XO
