Floral Party Dress

We've made it half way through the week, y'all! The weekend is officially within reach!

And, a special shout out to my local Chicago Cubs for a HUGE victory tonight over the Cardinals! Anyone else a Cubs fan?

While I understand we have broached the subject of the upcoming holiday's a few times here on the blog in the past few weeks, today, I'm bring it attention once again. Hear me out though.

If you follow along on Instagram, then you may have read or participated in the discussion regarding my lack of planning in past holiday seasons. Every year I get invited to last minute functions for friends, co-workers or blog functions, and year after year I feel completely unprepared. I search desperately for looks I love to find items are sold out in my size or entirely overpriced. So, this year, I promised myself I'd do better. I promised myself I'd look earlier.

With all of this in mind, you can imagine how I felt as soon as I eyed this little number while shopping online at Akira. I immediately fell in love with the rich red hue and bold floral print. It's versatile enough to wear now, but I also imagine it with again pure white snow with a black faux fur throw in the winter months.

As soon as it was ordered, I also went on the hunt for a great pair of heels I knew would be a fun addition for the holiday season, too. I wanted a pair that would I could style multiple ways, that were conversation starters and made me feel that extra bit of fun and flirty. If you're not a regular shopper of ASOS, I highly recommend checking them out. Even more so than normal, they have an incredible selection of shoes - not to mention looks for Fall and the holidays. How adorable are these for less than $50? I couldn't resist! Shawn laughed at me when they arrived so I knew they were fabulous :)
